Meet Pastors Derrick & Nicole West
Derrick and Nicole West have a proven history of church planting and revitalization, having overseen the launch and renewal of six churches in New York. A few years ago, they answered God’s call to return to Derrick’s hometown of Wildwood, Florida.
God led them to an existing but struggling Assembly of God church in Coleman, FL, which became the launching place for Encounter Church. From there, Encounter Church stepped out in faith, purchasing property in Wildwood and beginning services under a large tent while the new church building is being constructed.
Together with their four children, Pastors Derrick and Nicole have embraced the call not only to plant Encounter Church, but also to establish Encounter Centers, spaces where people of every background, age, culture, and ethnicity can have a life-changing encounter with Jesus Christ.
The West family and Encounter Church carry a deep passion for those struggling with addiction, believing God has positioned them to be a catalyst for healing and transformation in Wildwood, Sumter County, across Florida, and beyond.
